The Guild of Travel Management Companies has launched a series of online training modules for business travel consultants.
The course developed out of a workshop involving GTMC members and training managers and offers nine modules, with more to come.
Those already available include courses on the basics of business travel terminology, car rental, hotels, insurance, visa and passport requirements and business travel geography.
They are designed to help new employees, former leisure agents moving into business travel and students.
GTMC general manager John Williams said: “These are not just for GTMC members – other TMCs may use them.”
He said colleges and recruitment companies have already expressed interest in the training.
Each module costs £10 and takes about an hour to complete, with possible reductions in price for bulk orders. Students answering a set of questions correctly will receive a certificate.
