P&O sees trend towards longer world cruises

P&O Cruises is seeing increased demand for longer world cruises.

Nearly 28% of passengers booked on P&O Cruises’ three ships on world voyages (Artemis, Aurora and Oriana) are staying on for the full trip – between 80 and 101 nights.

This figure stood at 25% in 2007 and only 17% embarked for the full journey in 2006.

Cunard also has Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth 2 on world cruises, but it is reporting demand for more transatlantic crossings on the other ship in its fleet, Queen Mary 2.

It has responded by adding more crossings for 2008.
