Leisuredirection.co.uk to remove ABTA logos

Leisuredirection.co.uk has been forced to remove ABTA logos from its website.

The website was one of the Leisure Direction’s assets that was sold off after the tour operator and travel agent went into administration last week.

It is now owned by Leisure Direction Travel, an entirely separate company owned by Travel Gateway.

The new company has no ABTA membership and on Wednesday it removed the logos. ABTA  also asked for other references to the trade association to be removed which were actioned.

Worldchoice has asked for its logos, which have been incorrectly placed on the website, to be taken off.

Phil Jones, spokesman for 2morrow Group, which is affiliated to Leisure Direction Travel, said: “We’re not ABTA members and it is not our desire to represent ourselves as such. It is in the nature of these things that we have to respond quickly.”
