Homeworking agency Holiday Experts doubled its bookings in February compared with the same period last year.
However, the firm is predicting March sales will be a slightly more conservative at 60% up on last year, because of the early Easter.
To double the size of the business by the end of the year, to 100 employees, Holiday Experts has launched a dedicated recruitment site www.homeworking-experts.co.uk.
However, managing director Mike Russell said: “At Holiday Experts we’re about quality rather than quantity. Anyone can go on a mad recruitment drive and bolster their numbers, but if people are not making the money they expect, or getting support from head office, they’ll soon be off. For us it’s about attracting and retaining the very best home-workers in our sector,” he said.
The fastest growing region for sales this winter has been the Caribbean, said Russell. “We took our homeworkers to the island about 15 months ago for an in-house conference and I believe that once an agent has visited a destination they’re so much more confident of selling it in the future.”
