Taubmann Centres to market shopping breaks

A US organisation is looking to capitalise on the growing market for shopping breaks to the USby promoting specific packages to the trade at World Travel Market.

Shopping mall operator Taubman Centres, sister company to Sotheby’s, will be at this year’s show to market the wide range of shopping centres and designer products that are available in key US cities and destinations.

In response to research which has shown that 89% of all visitors to the US will spend time shopping during their stay, the company has produced a programme called Taubman World Class Shopping.

This includes deluxe hotel accommodation, visits to attractions and shopping privileges such as discounts and exclusive gifts.

Two locations will be exhibiting at WTMin their own right – Cherry Creek in Denver, Colorado, and the Beverly Centre in Los Angeles – while Taubman Centres can be found at the Shop America stand with details of its 28 malls and others opening in the next two years.

Mall locations include Santa Barbara and the San Francisco Bay area in California; Norfolk, Virginia; Chicago, Illinois; and at Grand Rapids in Michigan. Further centres are being developed in Miami, Tampa and Palm Beach in Florida, as well as Dallas, Texas.
