A weddings and honeymoon specialist is offering packages through the trade for the first time.
Perfect Weddings and Honeymoons marketing director Danny Waine said the operator has launched its Perfect Weddings Abroad packages to Austria featuring weddings for 2009 and 2010.
He said not only will agents who work with the operator be paid commission for booking wedding packages but also for selling the wedding-only.
Waine said: “Too many companies are treating overseas weddings like fuel surcharges.
“Agents work very hard to get wedding bookings and spend a lot of time planning the finer points with the couple, so for some companies not to offer commission on wedding packages is outrageous.
“The industry has seen the growth in DIY packages from both travel agents and consumers and we aim to provide a service to agents who want to build their own holiday packages but still have a quality company to work alongside to organise the wedding side of things.”
Waine added the operator is planning to launch trade wedding packages to Hawaii, New York, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Czech Republic and South Africa although he could not say exactly when. An agents area of the operator’s website is also under construction.
