The crew on board one of Crystal Cruises’ ultra-luxe yachts rescued a group of French nationals.
The Crystal Espirt rescued three children and nine adults after their catamaran was dragged from its mooring buoy and ran aground on Friday.
In a statement the luxury cruise line said the area had been experiencing inclement weather causing irreparable damage to the catamaran.
The Crystal Espirit crew and the Seychelles Coast Guard operated in darkness, heavy rain and high swell but safely got the group onto an inflatable boat and transferred to the yacht.
The rescued passengers were taken to Praslin Island and Crystal Espirit departed as planned on Friday heading to Aride Island.
Crystal Cruises launched Crystal Esprit in December 2015 as the brand expanded from its fleet of two luxury cruise ships into yachting.
