The Global Travel Group is to form a consultative committee of members to give its views on changes planned under new owners Stella Travel Services.
The committee, due to be formed in the next week, will be made up of Global and Independent Options representatives from 12 regions nationwide.
Global chief executive Andrew Botterill said the committee would help to gauge agents’ views on changes planned over the next 12 months.
He said: “Some of the issues will be Stella ones, some will be about product or brand. Representatives will be elected by members. We don’t want to do anything without it being something that is required by members.”
He added there would be an opportunity for Global members to re-brand as Harvey World Travel, also owned by Stella.
“Branding is an opportunity we feel has driven massive benefits in other Stella markets. It’s a decision we have to put to members it will be an elective process,” he said.
