Advantage has flatly denied rumours of an acquisition approach by Stella Travel Services after talks with the group to work more closely on the sale of its products.
Speculation of a £10 million deal to buy Advantage circulated at this year’s Triton Travel Conference.
Advantage chief executive John McEwan said the consortium is already the largest seller of Stella-owned Travel 2/Travel 4 in the UK and hopes to thrash out a longer-term commercial deal of three and five years.
He said: “We are in talks about how we can extend our commercial relations to do more business.”
Stella Travel Services UK managing director Andrew Laurie added: “Our priority has to be our business and making sure it is running smoothly.”
But he added there were discussions to sell other group products such as hotel chains owned by Stella through Advantage. “We are having deeper discussions with them – we might even do an Advantage brochure with our product,” he said.
