A Jamaica-based charity supported by a range of major travel firms is to launch an online auction this week to raise funds to buy books for local children.
The online auction, organised by Books4Kids Jamaica, is now in its sixth year, and goes live on Thursday, April 27. Last year’s auction raised $102,000, which was used to buy books and educational materials for four and five-year-olds across Jamaica.
The auction is live for a week, and bidders can compete for more than 100 worldwide holidays, flights, cruises and other luxury items.
Travel lots up for auction include flights with Virgin Atlantic and Delta, a 12-day cruise for two on Holland America Line and hotel stays at properties including Jamaica’s GoldenEye, Jamaica Inn, Half Moon Hotel, Round Hill Hotel and Trident Hotel.
