AITO 2008: Specialist agents’ website to be redeveloped

The AITO specialist travel agents website could be revamped by the end of the year.

Internet marketing specialist LeadGenerators managing director Frank Orman said the current website fails to capitalise on member agents’ independence and ability to specialise and does little to promote the benefits of booking with one of them.

He has proposed a complete redesign which will offer more information on the home page, attract more traffic and give agents more information on enquiries being made by potential customers.

It will also seek to capitilise on the exciting nature of the holidays on offer which should in turn generate more leads and bookings.

Orman said: “I think AITO agents has an incredible message and I don’t think you guys know it and I don’t think you’re doing enough to promote it.

“People will get the impression that they can find some really exciting stuff from this website.”

AITO specialist travel agents chairman Barry Moxley said while the final changes to the site are yet to be agreed, it is hoped that all changes will be made by the end of the year.
