Air Maldives is to launch twice-weekly flights from Manchester to the Maldive Islands on November 18.
The Airbus A310 service stops en route in Dubai to give passengers in the northwest opportunities to visit the Gulf states.
The airline will operate the aircraft in two classes with 18 business class and 200 economy seats.
The carrier said it was aiming to attract UK passengers on to the new service to connect in the Maldives to Asian and African destinations.
