The Global Travel Group agency consortium has announced the creation of a new group to champion the role of women in travel.
The Global Network of Women will meet once a quarter to network, discuss key issues and listen to guest speakers.
The formation of the group was announced at the consortium’s annual overseas conference in Spain this week. The first meeting will take place in September.
Commercial director Cherie Richards said: “From a personal point of view I learn daily from our members and am always inspired.
“From a business point of view it’s key that everything we do works for our members. This is another initiative to support diversity. It’s been warmly received by our female members.
“Gents will be welcome too. This is not a closed women’s group, it’s something I felt passionate about.”
Richards said Global also plans to establish initiatives to support members looking to tap in to the LGBT market.
