The Association of Cruise Experts has signed up the Spanish Tourist Office to sponsor Cruise Week and will issue agent packs next month on how to organise events during the week.
Cruise Week, from September 7-14, aims to involve as many as 2,000 agents by encouraging them to host their own cruise-related sales events.
ACE will help publicise the event and will list all events being held on its website. ACE is also launching an online training programme in mid-July on how to run events, covering everything from point-of-sale material to press releases.
Business development director Andy Harmer said: “If we get 2,000 travel agents taking part in Cruise Week – think of the impact we can have on booking patterns.”
