Carnival Cruise Lines takes delivery of Carnival Splendor

Carnival Cruise lines took delivery of its newest ship the 113,300-ton Carnival Splendor yesterday from the Fincantieri ship yard in Sestri, Italy.


The ship will be officially named during a ceremony on 10 July in Dover by British celebrity Myleen Klass after its inaugural voyage from Genoa to London.


The ship will sail on a special three-day voyage to Amsterdam between 10 to 13 July. It will then launch the cruise lines first Northern Europe programme featuring Denmark, German, Russia, Finland, Estonia and The Netherlands.


The Splendor will also operate a winter schedule of seven-day Carribean voyages from Fort Lauderdale followed by a series of 14 to 18 day South American voyages.
