Thomson has opened a new holiday design store featuring virtual reality headsets, interactive maps and self-service computers.
The virtual reality headsets will give ‘taster’ experiences, such as a trip onboard Tui Discovery or viewing premium seats on 787 Dreamliners.
An ATM stocking euros, dollars and sterling will also be installed, alongside a travel money desk.
The self-service computers will allow customers to print off boarding passes, complete advance passenger information and pay off holiday balances.
Digital interactive maps will be available for customers at every stage of the booking process, rather than there only being one at the front of the store.
The store in INTU Merry Hill in Dudley will also offer an appointment reservation system so customers can book a time to speak with an agent and continue with their shopping before returning for their slot.
To celebrate the opening, discounts and special offers are being offered to customers in the local area.
Distribution and cruise director for Tui UK & Ireland, Helen Caron, said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer a new and improved store to help our agents provide a state-of-the-art booking service to our customers.
“This flagship store launch underlines our commitment to retail and we are really excited to welcome people into the store to come and see what’s new and how our expert advisors can help them find their perfect holiday with the same great service and improved technology.”
