Dnata to provide ground handling at JFK’s Terminal 4

Emirates arm dnata is to provide ground handling at New York JFK airport’s Terminal 4.

Airlines to use the service from Tuesday (August 1) will include Etihad Airways, Volaris and Air Serbia, with combined annual turnarounds of more than 2,000 flights.

Dnata is spending $3 million on infrastructure and resources, creating more than 100 new jobs.

Dnata USA chief executive, David Baker, said: “This new license for dnata is the result of our consistent track record for delivering the highest quality to our customers.

“Our commitment to safety, meticulous on-time departure and service excellence, globally, in the USA, and in particular at the terminals we already operate in within JFK, were all contributing factors to receiving this permit.

“We now have the opportunity to offer our award-winning ground handling services to all customers already operating at Terminal 4 and to further strengthen existing global relationships with our customers in this location.”

Gert-Jan de Graaff, president and chief executive of Terminal 4 operator JFKIAT, said: “With more than 21 million passengers each year, we are confident that this new partnership with dnata will further excellent services for our airline customers and a superior passenger experience for our travellers.”
