Agent Sue Money has lived up to her name – by bagging a booking worth almost £40,000.
The aptly named homeworker from Nottingham secured a booking with Great Rail Journeys for eight people, earning herself more than £2,000 in commission.
Money, of Indulgent Escape, part of the Not Just Travel franchise, made the booking after learning about the operator at a Tipto event.
“Through the speed-dating part of the roadshow I met some of the Great Rail Journeys team.
“I hadn’t realised how lucrative a booking with them could be and, thanks to the excellent information presented by Great Rail Journeys, I was able to advise on their product.
“A friend said they were planning to travel across America so I suggested a rail journey. They loved the idea and we were able to get it sorted for them.”
Money booked a three-week USA Coast to Coast rail journey, plus pre and post-stays.
She started working part-time as a travel agent in August last year and set up Indulgent Escape with her husband Simon.
“Researching and booking holidays had always been something I loved doing, so last year I decided to do it for real.
“It’s the biggest booking I have ever made and it would be great if I could make more like this.”
Tipto chairman Jane Atkins said: “All of our activity with agents has to resonate within their everyday sales environment and so it’s always great for us to hear success stories such as Sue’s.
“To know that Tipto roadshows have had impact and contributed towards a booking of such a high revenue is fantastic and clearly highlights the importance of the events.”
