Jet2.com seeks 1,700 staff in UK-wide recruitment drive

Jet2.com is to take on more than 1,700 extra staff in a major UK-wide recruitment drive.

A series of roadshows will be held across the UK to fill 180 pilot, 900 cabin crew and more than 700 ground operations positions as the airline expands for summer 2018 to a fleet of more than 80 aircraft.

Capacity is being increased by 13% to 9.8 million seats with the drive for new staff following additional employees being taken on for this summer following the introduction of new bases at Birmingham and Stansted airports.

Roadshows are taking place throughout August and September at various airports and locations across the UK to support the recruitment.

The roadshows will offer the chance to meet members of the Jet2.com team, receive expert advice and information about the various roles on offer with an informal chat.

With a growing fleet of aircraft, including 34 new Boeing 737-800NG aircraft which are being delivered by 2019, there is a growing need for pilots, with a particular interest in B737 type-rated first officers.

The roles are targeted at experienced pilots with a strong training record.

The ground operations recruits will be responsible for ensuring that flights depart safely and on time.

Aspiring cabin crew members will be expected to deliver a consistently high level of safety and a ‘VIP service’ to passengers.

Chief executive, Steve Heapy, said: “It has been an exciting year for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, and we are delighted to be creating so many opportunities to join our award-winning team.

“If you care passionately about looking after customers, we would love to see you at one of our upcoming roadshows and we look forward to welcoming you on board.”
