American Airlines has promoted Tom Lattig to managing director – EMEA sales.
He has moved up from his role as director – corporate sales programs, where he was based in Fort Worth, Texas.
In his new role as ranking commercial leader for Europe, Tom will be based at American’s European headquarters in London where he will oversee sales activities such as supporting American’s growing network of routes throughout Europe, alongside its partner airlines British Airways, Iberia and Finnair.
Lattig will manage the strategy relating to customer relationships including travel agencies, corporate, small and medium businesses and distribution. He will report to Chris DeGroot, American’s vice president – international sales.
“Tom’s appointment is a part of elevating all of our international markets”, said DeGroot. “We’ve invested heavily in our aircraft, products, services and Joint Business partnerships, all focused on being the best airline for international travel. We’re counting on Tom to draw upon his leadership and deep experience to help us make the most of our opportunities.”
Lattig joined American Airlines in 1999. During 18 years with the airline he has led teams in strategic alliances, global corporate and alliance sales. A graduate of Washington University in St Louis, with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, he also holds an MBA from the University of Texas in Austin and is fluent in Spanish.
