Travel Weekly recorded the moment the world’s largest cruise ship Oasis of the Seas went on sale this week.
With Royal Caribbean International expecting unprecedented UK sales figures, TW TV visited the cruiseline’s call centre in Addlestone, Surrey to video staff as bookings got off to a flying start.
Senior bosses of the cruiseline went back to the floor for the day, with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line vice president and managing director Robin Shaw taking bookings over the phone and associate vice president and general manager Jo Rzymowska serving tea and drinks to staff.
The call centre was decorated in balloons and an Oasis-themed rest area was created for staff.
Most passengers booked on the ship’s sailings out of Fort Lauderdale are expected to be from the US, but Rzymowska believes the percentage of Brits booking to go the cruiseline’s ex-US itineraries could be higher than ever before.
