Royal Caribbean unveils Oasis of the Seas ‘Youth Zone’

Royal Caribbean International has revealed details of the ‘Youth Zone’ on its new cruise ship Oasis of the Seas.

The Youth Zone is the final area to be added into the deck plans for the new ship, which is due to launch in November 2009.

Spanning 29,000sq ft, the Youth Zone is centred around Kids Avenue, a central boulevard connecting children with various themed play areas.

The area will feature the cruiseline’s first fully-staffed nursery for infants and toddlers, a Kids’ Arcade for video games and a Workshop where families can learn craft skills.

The teen-only spaces will include a ‘mocktail’ bar and the Scratch DJ Academy, where teens can learn to spin and mix music.

Royal Caribbean UK and Ireland vice president and managing director Robin Shaw said: “The space dedicated to youth facilities is around the same area as half on the Wembley Stadium pitch so we can guarantee tha both big kids and little kids will be kept entertained.”
