P&O Cruises receives 3,000 sign-ups to new agent loyalty scheme in two days

P&O Cruises has announced more than 3,000 travel agents have signed up to its new loyalty scheme since it launched on Monday.

The Shine Rewards Club offers agents points not only for bookings but also for engaging with events and completing training.

Registered agents can begin earning points from December 21.

Alex White, Carnival UK’s sales vice-president, revealed 3,000 travel agents had registered with Shine across 200 travel agencies at a dinner hosted by P&O Cruises at Forman’s restaurant in east London on Wednesday.

He said: “We want people to engage with the portal and most of all enjoy it. It is a multimillion pound investment. The most significant investment is in the rewards.

“We think it is really exciting. It has been a brilliant week and there is much more to come in the coming weeks and months.”

He added that the cruise line’s initial target had been to reach 1,000 sign ups by December 1.

“Three thousand sign ups in two days is a great result,” he said. “The feedback has been fantastic.

“The Shine Rewards Club is a level playing field. The trade will judge us on our actions.”

The Shine Rewards Club replaces the former Complete Cruise Solution trade incentive programme which offered agents cruises when they rose to its top Commodore status.

Explaining how agents who reached Commodore status with the former Complete Cruise Solution trade incentive programme can transfer to Shine, White said: “When you start your training it picks up where you left off.

“If you reached Commodore status [with Complete Cruise Solution] you will start Shine with a sizeable chunk of points.”
