Royal Caribbean creates new role to alter business approach

Royal Caribbean has appointed an insights director to help translate company data into ways that can further enhance the company.

Stuart Byron will join the cruise line’s UK and Ireland senior leadership team on January 2.

He joins from IRI, a global insight business, where he was commercial and strategy director working with some of the world’s largest brands, including Mars and Coca-Cola.

Ben Bouldin, Royal Caribbean’s managing director in UK and Ireland, oversaw the appointment of Byron who has never worked in the travel industry before.

Bouldin said: “Stuart has unparalleled experience in developing insight-based commercial solutions and translating marketing campaigns to sales results.

“I am looking forward to seeing him apply his knowledge to the travel sector.”

Alongside the new position, the UK leadership team will be further bolstered by John Wilson, head of consumer outreach for Royal Caribbean UK and Ireland.
