Open days announced to drive Travel Network Group recruitment push

The Travel Network Group aims to attract new members through a series of open days.

The first event at the group’s Woking headquarters on January 26 will mainly concentrate on Travel Trust Association membership.

Invitations have gone out to more than 200 prospective new members.

A similar event for the TNG’s Independent Travel Experts brand is to be held in February in London.

The open days are targeting new entrants to the independent travel sector, as well as established businesses wanting to know more about the group’s membership options.

The events will focus on the benefits associated with the group’s core brands of Worldchoice, Worldchoice Plus,

The Travel Trust Association and Independent Travel Experts.

The January 26 session will be led by CEO Gary Lewis, membership services director Lisa Henning, marketing director Si Morris-Green and finance and commercial director Vim Vithaldas.

The theme of the day will be ‘Journey to Success’ and will inform attendees of the benefits available to those seeking to make a career in travel.

Henning, who also has responsibility for member recruitment, said: “TTA is and has been historically one of the UK’s most popular brands for new travel entrepreneurs and we continue to work hard to make sure that we attract a number of new TTA members a year.

“In 2017, we welcomed over 287 new members to the group overall.”

She added: “Our open days are a new initiative that we will use to share our passion, expertise, skills and knowledge with those looking to enter the market or those looking for an alternative travel partner to the one they are currently working with.

“Initial feedback from those we have spoken to has been really encouraging and we hope to have a full house.

“We have a responsibility as an industry to ensure growth in our sector and these events will ensure we get the support right from the start of the new member journey.”
