Wendy Wu launches ‘Amazing Asia Sale’

Asia specialist tour operator Wendy Wu Tours has launched its ‘Amazing Asia Sale’ for the month of January.

It includes free business class upgrades on China and Japan tours and savings of up to £1,000 per couple across China, Japan, southeast Asia and India.

It also features free return premium economy updates on India tours and double Bambu Club points for all bookings made online by travel agents before January 31.

Global sales director John Warr said: “Our Amazing Asia Sale represents outstanding value across many of our most popular tours. There has never been a better time to travel to China, Southeast Asia, India and Japan and our Asia sale is our way of thanking agents and customers for their ongoing loyalty and commitment.”

The operator among those to raise commission to agents by 0.5% to help them offset the increased cost of processing credit and debit card transactions without fees to the consumer. The EU’s Payment Services Directive 2 comes into effect on January 13.

Warr added: “We know that agents work in a competitive environment and so whilst the EU’s Payment Services Directive 2 is good news for consumers, the impact on agents, who can no longer pass on card fees to customers, will be considerable. Agents are our livelihood and so it’s imperative that they are protected by us from this new legislation and can run their businesses profitably.”
