Technology created and honed for British tour operators could soon be driving an explosion of travel in other countries.
BlueSky Travel Systems has long provided travel distribution software for some of the UK’s biggest operators, including Thomas Cook and TUI Travel.
Now, having attended last month’s ITB Asia in Singapore, the company has decided to target Chinese and Indian markets after hearing predictions that the outbound travel from the two markets has grown by 23% in the last five years.
BlueSky sales director Nick Fowler said: “By 2015, it is anticipated that China will become the world’s largest domestic travel market, the number one travel destination and the number four source market – this presents a huge business opportunity for us.
“Tour operators who want to exploit this kind of explosive growth will need state of the art travel technology that is readily in use in the UK.”
