Royal Caribbean International is to offer spot prizes for agents with every booking made as part of a multi-million turn-of-year campaign that will include TV, online and print advertising.
Agents will get a lucky dip prize for every booking made during January, while the cruiseline is also offering the trade a chance to win a holiday on Independence of the Seas for themselves and three friends as part of its special peak season campaign giveaway.
The trade will be sent details of the campaign before Christmas, which will also involve TV advertising from January 1, with a similar spend to last year.
The cruiseline has introduced offers of up to $100 of onboard credit per person, and free car parking in Southampton for Independence of the Seas bookings to ensure the brand remains competitive without the need for discounting. The cruiseline said it is the largest selection of onboard credit, applying to more sailings than ever.
For the second year running, consumer offers will include up to £400 off per stateroom booking made between December 1 and February 28 2009, based on two people sharing.
Agents will also receive information packs with 12-page booklets on the product, a desk calender and cruise planner, while point-of-sale material will include display stands and posters. There will also be an online campaign on the company’s agent training website cruisingpower.co.uk.
Associate vice-president Jo Rzymowska said: “The scope of incentives and offers to agents this January are the most attractive and valuable we have ever had. All of the booking offers are to maintain the January spike in business.”
