Tributes have been paid to former Galileo brand communications and events manager Terri Godwin, who has died aged 56 after losing her battle with cancer.
Godwin worked at the global distribution system supplier for just under 20 years, working her way up from executive secretarial roles to a variety of managerial positions, mostly in marketing and communications, before retiring in 2007 due to ill health.
Former industry colleagues said Godwin would be remembered for her instrumental role in organising hospitality events, in particular trade shows in the UK and overseas. She also worked with advertising agencies and helped develop the brand image for Galileo.
She fought a ten-year battle with cancer, but despite ailing health managed to campaign on behalf of Cancer Research UK. She died on December 23. Her funeral is being held today at St Michael’s Church in Bray.
