P&O Cruises has promoted Rosy Sims to the position of trade engagement and onboard sales director following Shane Riley’s move to Virgin Voyages.
Sims, who has worked for P&O Cruises for 10 years, was previously senior business manager, sales strategy for the line.
She took over Riley’s responsibilities last month on an interim basis when P&O Cruises announced his departure.
P&O Cruises’ vice president, sales Alex White said the promotion would “help and invest” in Sims’ career development.
He said: “Having held a number of positions within our brands, including working on board, she has the knowledge and experience required for this role.
“With two new next-generation ships on order for P&O Cruises, which will have a significant impact and penetration in the new to cruise market, I am confident that Rosy will work with agents to create mutual success.”
Sims has previously worked for Holland America Line and Seabourn.
Last year she led the project to design the strategy, deliver and launch the Shine Rewards Club.
Riley will become Virgin Voyages’ director of international sales on May 21.
