AmaWaterways has appointed Alex Holubowicz as marketing manager with immediate effect.
Holuowicz has previously worked at Clia, the Passenger Shipping Association and The Cruise Portfolio.
He will report into Jamie Loizou, sales, marketing and digital director, with the remit of increasing brand awareness among agents, as well as developing training.
Loizou said: “Working with the trade remains an absolute priority for AmaWaterways and Alex will be fundamental in facilitating that. A key element of his role will be to work with our trade partners on a number of exciting new training initiatives including online training, webinar, presentations and via industry bodies such as Clia”.
Meanwhile AmaWaterways’ newest ship AmaLea has set sail on its maiden voyage from Amsterdam along Dutch and Belgian waterways.
She will begin Danube itineraries from May 6 with an official christening ceremony taking place on May 26 in Vilshofen, Germany.
Sister ship to AmaKristina, AmaStella and AmaViola, AmaLea features connecting and triple occupancy staterooms and signature twin-balconies in most staterooms.
Additional amenities include a heated sun deck pool with swim-up bar, hair and massage salons, fitness centre, and a fleet of bicycles.
AmaLea will sail six Tulip Time cruises before embarking on seven-night cruises on the Danube between Vilshofen and Budapest, including two wine themed Cruises.
She will finish her inaugural 2018 season with four festive Christmas Market cruises on the Danube.
