Member sales strong during peak period, reveals Elite

The Elite Travel Group says  around 60% of its members are currently ahead of last year’s sales or are breaking during the peak sales period.

Some Elite agents are reporting nearly half of all sales are being made to new customers.

Commercial and membership manager Julie Franklin said the consortium’s 90 members are reporting strong sales in both long haul and luxury while weddings and honeymoons are also  attracting a number of enquiries.

She added: “As a consortium we are looking closely into the niche and UK market, working with companies that fit our membership with the view to helping increase bottom-line margins.”

Franklin said the consortium was also helping agents with new credit card deals rwhich are educing the cost of merchant services while it was about to sign a deal for reduced phone bills for all its members.

The consortium is urging members to book soon for this year’s conference which will take place during a five-night cruise on the Navigator of the Seas.

Departing from Malaga on November 4, the ship will take in Tenerife, Madeira and Portugal with agents able to attend two full days of conference sessions.

However, with around 100 cabins booked providing accommodation for up to 200 members, Franklin said space is at a premium and urged members to book early.
