BTI UK has launched its Internet booking tool for corporate clients, called BTI On-line Traveller.
The booking product has been designed by Web Travel Systems, the joint-venture company of tour operator systems supplier FSS and Travel Automation Services which owns global distribution systems supplier Galileo UK.
BTIOn-line Traveller allows users to check travel availability on the Galileo GDS using a laptop system. Information is sent to BTI’s head office where tickets are processed and sent out.
Travel managers can also use the system to collect management information data.
BTIUK head of information system products Tony Berry said:”A lot of our clients want the flexibility of being able to make bookings outside of office hours. This system gives them 24-hour access to our itineraries.”
The new technology has been developed to help BTIfocus more on providing a consultancy service to clients rather than just be seen as booking air tickets and hotel rooms.
Berry added:”We are providing this system as part of our consultancy arm.
“It enables us to look at the way in which companies spend their money and enables us to help them spend their money cost effectively.”
