Verdant Leisure sets £30,000 fundraising target for Teenage Cancer Trust

UK holiday park operator Verdant Leisure is to support Teenage Cancer Trust as its 2018 charity of the year.

The company aims to raise £30,000 for the charity by hosting fundraising activities at head office and charity open days throughout the year at its eight leisure parks across Scotland and the north of England.

The support of Teenager Cancer Trust follows Verdant Leisure’s 2017 fundraising campaign for When You Wish Upon A Star, which raised £25,000.

Verdant Leisure marketing manager, Stacey Gibson said: “We had such great success and fun across all the parks raising money for the charity, so everyone is very excited to get stuck in again this year.

“Last year we had team members climbing Ben Nevis, jumping out of airplanes and taking part in Santa Fun Runs, so we can’t wait to see what ideas our parks come up with this year.”

Louise Miles regional fundraising manager at Teenage Cancer Trust, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Verdant Leisure over the next year. Young people with cancer need specialist nursing and support.

“Right now, we can only help half of young people with cancer with our world-leading nursing. That’s why support from Verdant Leisure is vital so that we can fund more nurses and help every young person with cancer get the specialised nursing they so desperately need.”
