Conservative MP Nigel Evans has tabled an early day motion congratulating the travel companies who are members of Prevention of Fraud in Travel (PROFiT).
An EDM is a formal motion submitted for debate in the House of Commons. However, few EDMs are actually debated but are used to publicise the views of individual MPs, drawing attention to specific events or campaigns.
Agents can support the Early Day Motion EDM 790 by asking their local MP to support the travel industry’s fight against fraud.
The EDM says: “This House welcomes the launch of PROFiT initiative congratulates the coalition of organisations that have come together to eliminate fraud from the travel industry including ABTA, British Airways, the Civil Aviation Authority, Davenport Lyons, the Freedom Travel Group, the Global Travel Group, Hays Travel, the Metropolitan Police Service, Teletext and the Travel Trust Association.
