Thomas Cook Sport offers ticketless World Cup 2010 packages

Thomas Cook Sport will be offering FIFA 2010 World Cup packages for customers who have already bought their tickets in the ballot.

Many World Cup travel packages being offered by tour operators already include tickets for the football tournament, which takes place in South Africa next summer.

However, Thomas Cook Sport will be able to organise travel for fans who have already bought tickets through a FIFA ballot which opened last week.

Thomas Cook Sport managing director Danny Talbot said: “We want fans to have the best experience possible in South Africa so we are delighted to be able to offer them other travel options, whether they want to travel independently or join a group.”

The FIFA ballot will allocate the first 740,000 World Cup tickets, and fans have until March 31 to register. FIFA has announced plans to sell a total of 3 million tickets over five stages.

Thomas Cook Sport’s World Cup packages are expected to go on sale this summer.
