Karen Robertson has been promoted to managing director of JacTravel’s DMC division in Europe.
She has been among senior management at the global hotel accommodation supplier since 2004 and takes on the new role from her previous position as product and marketing director.
The DMC division has offices in Edinburgh, London, Dublin and Cluj-Napoca in Romania, with sales teams also based in Germany, France, China and North and South America.
The London-based team will soon be moving into a new, dedicated facility located near existing premises in Hammersmith.
Robertson’s switch of jobs follows Australian OTA Webjet taking over JacTravel from Vitrunvian Partners last year.
JacTravel is now part of B2B accommodation arm WebBeds alongside the brands Sunhotels, Lots of Hotels, Totalstay and FITRuums.
Robertson said: “It’s a hugely exciting time for the DMC business now that we are part of the wider WebBeds organisation.
“We are fully focused on carrying on the good work that has facilitated our growth over the recent years whilst at the same time taking advantage of the scale and opportunities that the expanded WebBeds network offers our clients and suppliers alike.”
WebBeds Europe CEO Nigel Horne added: “We are delighted that Karen has accepted the role of managing director.
“The wealth of experience that she brings is invaluable and she has played an integral part in the growth and innovation that the JacTravel DMC team have delivered in recent years.
“We are confident that Karen’s energy and expertise will drive the business forward to meet our very ambitious growth objectives for the business.”
