Wizz Air passenger carryings soared by 18% last month to more than 2.8 million.
The eastern and central European budget airline, which gained a UK operating licence in May, increased its fleet to 98 aircraft and announced seven new routes from Hungary and one from Romania.
The load factor rose by 0.8 percentage points to 91.9% year-on-year.
May’s performance gave the airline a running annual total of 33.3 million passengers, up by 22% over the same period a year earlier.
