A new managing director of the luxury Carlisle Bay resort in Antigua has been named.
Thomas Orchard was previously regional general manager for COMO Hotels and Resorts for 17 years, a period that saw the company grow from three to 14 properties.
He was responsible for five-star London hotels The Metropolitan on Park Lane and The Halkin in Belgravia.
John Paul Doherty, creative and marketing director of Carlisle Bay owner, Dublin-based Harcourt Developments, said: Thomas will be overseeing the strategic direction of Carlisle Bay as it continues to evolve as a leading luxury Caribbean resort.
“Thomas brings with him a wealth of experience in luxury and privately-owned properties which will be hugely beneficial to Carlisle Bay.”
The resort, which has 87 suites and is featured by a range of long-haul operators, is also opening its first yoga retreat in August.
Orchard said: “Carlisle Bay is a property I have known and loved for many years and I am thrilled to be joining the team, bringing my experience of running five-star hotels to this luxury resort.”
