Gold Medal and Travel 2 appoint product and commercial director

A new product an commercial director has been appointed at dnata Travel B2B brands Gold Medal and Travel 2.

Tricia Birmingham has been promoted from her current position as senior product manager for the Middle East, Indian Ocean and Africa, and starts her new role next week.

She has been appointed by and will report in to Lisa McAuley, managing director, B2B Europe Gold Medal and Travel 2 who joined the firm in January from cruise line Silversea.

Birmingham will drive the product and commercial strategy for the two dnata Travel B2B brands with the aim of further developing their position and reputation in the UK travel trade.

She will manage the product and pricing teams in both Gold Medal and Travel 2 offices.

McAuley said: “I’m thrilled to be able to announce this much deserved promotion. Recruiting from within to maximise the phenomenal talent sitting within the business is a great testament to the market-leading quality of our homegrown team.

“Tricia’s impressive track record brings invaluable experience to the new role. I look forward to working with her much more closely over the coming months driving forward more opportunities for our business.”

Birmingham, who has more than 20 years’ experience in tour operating, joined the business in October 2016. She has previously held senior roles at Shearings Holidays and the BCT Travel Group.
