NEW INSTITUTE of Travel and Tourism chairman Jackie Kernaghan plans to draw up a new manifesto for the body by Christmas.
Kernaghan, who was voted into the chair by the board of directors, said a new structure was needed to take the ITT into the next century.
“We need to be more about developing individuals and other bodies,” she said.
“We’ve also got to look at the benefits of the ITT forindividuals and corporates.”
Kernaghan replaces previous chairman Carol Dray, who has decided to step down after a year. Dray will stay on the new-look board of 17, which is now represented by industry sectors.
The fate of chief executive Linda Gibson is expected to be decided at a hearing on November 2. Gibson was found guilty of racial discrimination by an industrial tribunal.
