Aurora Expeditions has joined cruise association Clia as it looks to expand its presence in the UK, Ireland and Europe.
The Australian-based expedition line specialises in small-group polar voyages and off-the-beaten-track destinations.
Aurora is preparing to welcome new ship Greg Mortimer, which is to be named after the company’s founder, in October 2019 and has recently announced a new collection of repositioning voyages from Antarctica to the Arctic for summer 2020
All itineraries, including the repositioning voyages which will travel up the western side of Latin America, through the Panama Canal and the Caribbean, will seek to visit remote and unusual locations and wildlife.
Craig Upshall, Aurora Expeditions’ UK and Europe sales director, said: “Aurora Expeditions is absolutely delighted to be joining Clia, this has come at a great time for Aurora, as we prepare for the launch our new ship the Greg Mortimer next year.
“Clia brings expedition cruising to life through its incredible connections throughout the global cruise community, and Aurora looks forward to welcoming the visibility we hope to gain through this.”
Andy Harmer, Clia senior vice-president, membership, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Aurora to Clia. The expedition sector is one of the most dynamic elements of the global cruise industry and the addition of Aurora’s expertise in this arena is great news for Clia travel agents.”
