Holiday park operator Verdant Leisure in line for ‘Oscars of British business’

UK holiday park operator Verdant Leisure has been shortlisted for two awards celebrating British business.

The company, which runs eight sites in south-east Scotland, Ayrshire and north east England, is on the short list for the Lloyds Bank mid-market business of the year and customer focus award.

Called the “Oscars of great British business” by former prime minister David Cameron, the awards recognise companies who are driving exceptional growth across the country.

Verdant Leisure chief executive Graham Hodgson said: “This is the second year we’ve been shortlisted for the customer focus award and we’re thrilled to be adding the mid-market business of year award shortlist too this year.

“It means so much to the whole team to know that our efforts have been recognised. 2018 has been another pivotal year for Verdant Leisure so far and we are excited to see what the future brings, with excellent customer service remaining very much at the heart of everything we do.”

The shortlist was finalised after more than 1,000 registrations were assessed against each category’s criteria.

The finalists must now make presentations to a panel of judges and leading business luminaries, with the winners will be revealed on November 13 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

Lloyds Bank National Business Awards brand director Sarah Austin said: “All entries faced a rigorous judging process, which is why the awards are an accolade to true, world-class achievements, offering businesses the credibility and encouragement to continue in their ambitious success.

“Due to the high-level of competition witnessed this year, all finalists should feel incredibly proud.”
