Barrhead Travel sets up financial services division

Barrhead Travel is helping customers beat the recession by setting up its financial services division.

The Scottish miniple now offers competitively-priced products including loans and life insurance.

Customers who buy financial services through the company will qualify for Holiday Miles, the agency’s new reward scheme.

The scheme, which has already attracted 20,000 members, allows customers to earn ‘miles’ to put towards the cost of their next holiday.

As well as buying financial products, they can earn miles when they shop online at the Holiday Miles website, which aggregates products from 600 high-street brands. These include Marks and Spencer, Boots, Dixons and Bhs.

From later this month, consumers will also be able to gather miles by buying a holiday from Barrhead Travel.

Friends and families can pool their miles to get the holiday they want and there is no limit on how many they can earn.

Barrhead Travel founder Bill Munro said: “Times have been very difficult for everyone, but I am determined that our customers receive the best possible deals.

“The Holiday Miles reward scheme means when they go online and buy from top high-street names, they receive a benefit, which can go straight towards their holiday. It’s very straightforward and helps us give something back to our customers.”
