Specialist medical travel insurance provider AllClear has named Dr Ian Owen as chairman to further build the company’s growth strategy.
The appointment follows the acquisition of AllClear by private equity firm Synova Capital earlier this year and Chris Rolland being appointed as CEO.
Owen said: “I am joining at an exciting time for the business, and I look forward to furthering what the team has already achieved this year, including a near 50% increase in direct sales.”
He was founding chairman of private equity-backed Partnership Assurance, which he headed from 2005 until its flotation on the London Stock Exchange in 2013.
Originally qualifying as an actuary, Owen also chaired Guardian Financial Services until its sale in 2016 and was chief executive at Eagle Star International, managing director at Eagle Star Life and Zurich Personal Lines and group director at LV.
Rolland said: “I am extremely pleased that Ian is joining our fast-growing business. His vast experience will provide a great support in helping us to further develop our growth strategy.”
