Passengers flying to and from Istanbul are being urged to allow extra time for check in and transfers as a new airport opens at the end of the month.
The caution came in updated travel advice for Turkey from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
A new airport serving Istanbul is due to open on October 29 with flights transferring from the existing Ataturk airport between over three days until October 31.
“During the transition period, flights are expected to operate simultaneously from both airports,” the FCO said.
“You should allow sufficient time for check in, transfers to onward destinations and for potential transfer between the two airports.
“If you have any questions regarding your flight you should contact your airline for information.”
