A Latin America Travel Association Foundation travel industry pub quiz raised a record £2,666.86.
All the funds from the annual event held in London attending by 100 guests will be invested into ten core charity initiatives in Latin America.
The quiz was attended by most of the UK’s major Latin America operators split into 15 company teams with Journey Latin America taking the top spot by one point from Revealed Travel.
Created by the Latin America travel industry in the UK, the Lata Foundation supports grassroots projects to help transform lives, supply clean water, dental or medical support and offer practical training and skills to empower local communities.
Foundation chairman Chris Pickard said: “On behalf of the trustees of the LATA Foundation we would like to thank everyone – individuals and companies – that were involved in the annual Lata Foundation pub quiz.
“It does not matter if you came along to take part, supported the raffle, or were involved with the organisation, we, and the people you are helping in Latin America thank you.
“We are of course absolutely delighted to have achieve a record-breaking sum of £2666.86.
“A final big thank you to our main sponsor, Belize, who made the evening possible.”
