Odyssey launch sparks UK interest

Yachts of Seabourn has seen a surge in interest from the UK and Europe since the launch of new ship Seabourn Odyssey in June.

Director Europe, Middle East and Africa Andrew Magowan said by the end of the year, one-third of passengers will have been Europeans.

He added: “Odyssey has driven a lot of new business for us. The ship is cruising in the Mediterranean at the moment, which always helps.”

Just over 300 on the maiden voyage were past Seabourn passengers; another 100 people had not tried the brand before.

Magowan said: “Some past passengers were not keen on the bigger ship and only came on because it was Seabourn, but they left impressed, which we’re very pleased about.”

At 32,000 tons, Odyssey is three times bigger than Seabourn’s three other ships.
