Round-up: UK operators’ FIFA World Cup 2010 packages

Demand for World Cup packages has risen sharply following England’s qualification for the finals in South Africa.


Four UK operators are selling official travel packages. Below is a sample of what they are offering.

Thoms Cook Sport’s World Cup packages start at £2,499 for one match ticket and five nights’ accommodation in a three-star hotel, and rise to £4,150 per person for three matches and 17 nights’ in a three-star hotel.

  • Eighteen-night packages from £3,999

World Cup packages include scheduled international flights, accommodation, transfers, access to official match tickets at face value; safari experience.


Eighteen-night package includes Big Bar Experience and tailor made trips in the Western Cape area.

All World Cup packages are based in Johannesburg and include flights, accommodation, match tickets and transfers.

  • Eleven-night packages for first and second group matches, based in Cape Town or Sun City, from £4,395
  • Ten-night packages for third group match and first knockout match, based in Cape Town or Sun City, from £4,395
  • Four-night packages for the final, based in Johannesburgh, from £8,250

Packages include return flight from London with South African Airways, airport transfers, accommodation, official match tickets, stadium transfers, official souvenir, tour manager.
