NCL Epic inaugural cruise goes on sale today

Norwegian Epic’s inaugural cruise goes on sale today to members of Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) past passenger programme Latitudes and to agents whose clients registered last month on a waiting list.

The inaugural, a transatlantic crossing between Southampton and New York, goes on general sale on Thursday September 17.

It departs Southampton on June 24 2010 and arrives in New York on July 1 2010. Prices start from £1,019 per person including return flight or £469 per person cruise-only.

NCL has also scheduled an extra Caribbean cruise at the start of the ship’s inaugural season following news it will be delivered earlier than expected from the shipyard in France where it is being built.

Its first Caribbean cruise, visiting St Maarten, St Thomas and Nassau in the Bahamas now departs Miami on July 10 2010 instead of July 17 as originally scheduled.

Passengers booked on the July 17 departure can switch to the earlier cruise if they want at no additional cost.

The 4,200-passenger ship, NCL’s largest-ever ship, will be operating alternative Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises through the rest of 2010. Prices start from £1,079 per person including flights and transfers.
